Cincinnati R1: Donaldson def. [12] Bautista Agut 7-6(5) 6-3

Good win for the most talented player born in the USA since Pete Sampras.

Unlike the other USA's boring servebots and forehand bots, Donaldson possesses a very complete game. Hopefully he develops well.

Do you wonder what I've been doing the last 3 months?

I like the potential of a few of the young USA crop ... thinking that they will develop other aspects. But yes, Donaldson is great to watch "now", and is gaining power - and thus improving results.

With Raionic's w/d, Donaldson has a stronger opportunity to win another couple of rounds.

I much admit this result surprised me, but a really good win for Donaldson

I have a, shall we say, morbid personality.

I like Donaldson as well, but he's slowly but surely establishing himself as one of the biggest chokers on tour. Can't remember any of his matches where he hasn't blown at least one huge lead.

Even yesterday he led 6-1* in the TB and then lost the next 4 points for 6-5*, the last one with a DF. Good for him that RBA eventually decided to doublefault as well.
