He needs to work on shortening points.

He should get better taking small baby steps to be in best position to get power behind shots, Djokovic might be the best mover on defensive points; but he is sometimes a bit awkward adjusting himself to take control of points, sometimes awkwardly looking like a duck just getting the ball any way he can (when he is actually in a position to take control). This really costs him alot when playing Wawrinka, who just needs to get weird FH and BH slice returns back to Novak who thereafter just can not take control of points against Wawrinka (unlike Federer and NAdal).

So, more ballet and less yoga from now on.

Spot on. Of course, this is a recent development, he used to be much better in that department. If it stems from natural decline, he will hardly be in position to do anything about it.

Be realistic he is not going to change the way he plays. Even for fed, a super offense player, this took years to really perfect.

Djoker needs to rest and heal up. Maybe regain his motivation and passion. He wont be really looking to change his serve, forehand, backhand much because of his injury and is likely going to be super cautious about this.

Dont see djoker improving serve, backhand, forehand with the injuries he is dealing with rather he will have to get that level back and maybe take something off of some of those swing to save his elbow.

the most concerning is his love and passion and he may just enjoy being away from the game and it may be difficult for him to get back to where he was before.

What federer did was insane with his comeback but his passion and love are off the chart and he just needs minimal level of play to get his game flowing.

I wish novak the best but its going to take some time when he gets back to get his groove back.

Still haven't repaired that record I see.

I may be alone in this, but I get the feeling Novak shouldn't train so hard physically and instead focus on finding his emotional balance on court. Maybe if he opened up his heart more for the fundamental concepts of true love and peace, he would improve as a tennis player and as a person...

Wow. Who knew Nolevent and I would have the same post?

He should change absolutely nothing about his game.

It would be like adding spoilers to a Ferrari.

He should try to find some kind of personal and emotional equilibrium, so that he no longer desperately searches for validation from quack doctors peddling bullshit diets, or from the unconditional love from the crowds (that he will never get), or from nonsense cultish gurus.

All top tennis players have... interesting psychological make-ups. Maybe most professional sports people do. But I've never seen one with such an obvious unfillable hole in his psyche like Djokovic.

I think it will be hard for Djokovic to change certain things dramatically.
Maybe he has a chance to work on his pre point habits. He usually needs
really long and gets distracted or even takes a warning.
He also has to grind a lot and doesn't get short points very often. More
serve variation or other things might help him a lot.

The most important thing will be somethng else. He has to take the injury
seriously and should not start working the arm too soon.
He also needs to take care of his body more carefully. His lenghthy absence
is at least partly due to him not addressing his elbow earlier. He said it
bothered him a year and a half. Since AO16 he would have had a lot of
opportunities to take a longer break and not having to skip a slam.

He should persuade Boris Becker to work with him again. And maybe an new fitness coach/physiotherapist.

The time of domination is gone forever. For Djokovic, and for the other big Four (Three/Five). Of course, he still can win Slams, but it will be more difficult from year to year. He is declining, while his younger opponents are developing their skills. And older players like Nadal, Federer, Wawrinka, Cilic are still not retired. For the next five years I see about ten top-players, playing on almost the same level. So he has to defeat at least 3 or 4 top-players, instead of one or two in oder to win important tournaments.
