Come on, try a little harder. Give us a nice piece of text outlining your opinions on the matter. You can't just throw these two words, which in itself are no more than a cliffhanger, and leave it at that. I got the feeling you want to say something about the player Djokovic here. Well the floor is yours. Don't leave us in suspense any longer.

No. Too early to write him off. I reckon he has another couple of GS and 6-7 masters left in him.

This exactly. We can't say anything about the psychical aspect of him returning, because we simply don't know enough. Only he and his team know the details. But further than that it's would be strange to write him off.

Absolutely not. He did the right thing and took some time off, next year at the AO he'll be a hell of threat.

You think people have learnt from writing off Federer and Nadal years ago...

Of course Djokovic isn't done yet. His basic level is way above average. I do think his tennis needs more depth in the coming years to be a constant threat at all big tournaments and to keep up with the improving young guns. His robotic style has become very vulnerable. Power players and players who vary more can hurt this style. And it's not like he's getting any younger.

If MTF foresight would apply in the tennis world, Federer would only have 12 slams, Nadal 9 and Djokovic 6.:grin2:

Of course he is finished. The signs are there for everybody to see. He is a step slower, movement is sluggish, and he can't pull off shots he was once capable of. He still can have some good days, and flashes of brilliance in a match, but the days of winning matches week in and out are over.

But then we are living in an era of 'miraculous' recoveries where aging players somehow seem to rediscover that fountain of youth, their court movement drastically improves and they are again winning matches regularly. We have seen a couple of examples this year already. So next year may turn out to be happy hunting ground for Djokovic yet again, who knows!

It's far too early to write Djokovic off, I expect he'll be back to a top 5 level pretty quickly.

It's not like Novak herniated some discs, hyperextended an ACL or tore a rotator cuff, a bone bruise shouldn't be a career impacting injury. And chilling at Camp Granola for 6 months while Fedal grad up everything in sight SHOULD be enough to reignite his competitive fire....You'd have to be Gods own holy fool to write off anyone in the Fedalovic triumverate before they actually retire.

the moon that the birth of his second child is getting ever closer.
