IW: Will Tommy have enough comeback power to handle his whipping boy, Enqvist?

Tommy dominates Thomas in their H2H, so how he performs against Enqvist in the 1st round will tell a lot about his fitness and how his comeback is proceeding (he's 0-2 to date). Any other thoughts?

LOL! Too close to call, but Thomas is really in form right now, I've never seen him play so amazing. My fingers are crossed for him in this one I'm sick of seeing Thomas play like crap! Kom igen Tompa!

Go Go Tommy! His confidence could use a boost, so I hope he pulls it off...

On the other hand I don't mind seeing Thomas win either. He does seem to do pretty well lately.

But for now, Tommy it is, just cuz he needs it so bad!

I understand all of Tommy's fans wanting a win for him as he comes back from injury, but my sweet Tompa is also trying to rebuild his ranking after an injury too.

I'll be pulling for Tompa in that one.

Too bad they are facing each other in the 1st round ; but anyway I have confidence in that Thomas will win...

Aren't all love stories destined to fail?

Yes, I suspect Enqvist will take it considering he's had more match practice and is having a pretty good year so far; despite the lopsided head to head he should have won the last two meetings considering he led two sets to one at the US Open and I believe had matchpoint when they played in Vienna.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

No.

Enqvist has been playing fairly well so far this season while Haas is just returning from a 15-month layoff. He's won two dubs matches, but is yet to win in singles so far this year.

Nevertheless, it's so nice to see Tommy back.

Question: Why is Haas so reluctant to use his protected ranking? He keeps getting wild cards for some reason. Is he just waiting to use the protected ranking when he starts winning matches again or is it something else?

Thomas will most probably win, he has had somewhat of a form resurrgance of late so I dont expect a Tommy coming back from injury to beat Thomas.

Well, the H2H is now 9:2.

Does Thomas have a mental block with him?

Just goes to prove the old adage, the one that most frequently springs to mind when I think of Henman against Hewitt, Ferreira against Agassi, Bjorkman against Kafelnikov: once a pigeon, always a pigeon...
