Another hard-fought victory, altough he seemed to be the better player in all 3 sets again. Losing to a junkball-moonball-grinder hybrid would have been awful of course, especially since we would have witnessed another bendover to Federer tomorrow.
As for Zverev, the final is already a great result (even though he was the favourite in the bottom half), still remember worrying about the loss of 300 points last year when he was around #25.
Hopefully he won't be too exhausted after these two matches including doubles later, but I think his fitness should be fine.
Muller thanks you, Sascha! I thought Gasquet actually played well early in the match, but Zverev's lack of finesse right now is showing. Net plays at times were quite predictable on whose going to win it. Great hustle to comeback and break at important moments, anyway.
The quality was pretty high at times. Zverev may not have played his best in the first but Gasquet was playing pretty well. Zverev was able to raise his level though in the 3rd and get the win. Halle fans get the final they paid for.
I actually found it an entertaining match to watch. There were some really nice points. Also a lot of generic or bad ones, but a good match overall. Gasquet does still have one of the most beautiful backhands out there. In the end Zverev deserved to win. I think Halle is pleased:nerd:
Sascha and his brother won their Doubles Match also
