Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

Anyone know which player this is breaking their ankle by the looks of it? It is not nice to look at so if you don't like that sort of thing don't open the file!
You need to right click and save the target on this link to download it.

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

arggggghhhhh that looked nasty, his ankle turned over like a piece of rubber.

judging by the tight shorts it looks like a late 80's or early 90's match, I wouldnt like to say who it could be but i bet that could easilly of been their last ever match, that was a horrible one.

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

I think it's Andrei Chesnokov as his injury where his ankle went the wrong way and the bone came through the ankle was at an indoor event in 1997.

IBM I think have been around since that time, and it looks like the classic Chesnokov bowl cut, but if the clip was larger I could say 100 %.

But I am 98 per cent sure it was Chesnokov.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

This lovely accident happened to Mister Stich actually. The tourney was Vienna indoors in the mid 90's, I guess.

It's Michael Stich, and I'm 99.99 % sure.

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

99.99% sure is higher than 98%, but now I look at it Stich was a leaner build than Chesnokov, but if the clip was larger then we could tell for sure.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

Trust me. It's Stich vs. Woodbridge at Vienna in 1995. How could I forget this accident, since it sends shivers down my spine when I just think of it.

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

Actually Chesnokov's injury was against Woodbridge as well, there must be something he did that affected these players.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

it does look like stich if you look again, same hair and hunched shoulders and running style.....for stich to recover from that and play matches again was a miracle, theres been many a break like that in english football where the guy walks with a limp and lives off insurance money for rest of his life.

it makes you shudder when you see that kind of stuff as you think the human body is robust and when it bends and goes floppy like that you start to think maybe armchair sport is safer lol

Re: Ouch! Does anyone know who this is?

I think it's Stich as Chesnokov was of stockier build than Stich and that guy looks very lean.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
