Too true, you see the lack of experience and knowledge everywhere. Isn't it just pathetic when people so full of themselves make stupid predictions with absolute self-confidence which turn out to be completely wrong. Shows they have no clue and should up every once in while. So sad.
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
As soon as I was old enough to understand it, which would be late 90's. I didn't really start watching it seriously, as in besides the GS's, until about 3 years ago though.
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
In the early 80s (McEnroe & Navratilova days), but I would be lying if I said I was extremely interested back then. My passion for the sport was a product of the 90s.
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
I started watching in the 70s, but that's a little bit misleading since I haven't watched constantly all this time. I watched with my mom when I was little because she loved Bjorn Borg. And then I stopped watching when she did I guess, only start again a few years later when I happened across Andre Agassi on tv. And then I came back to it this year after having been away for a few years. I don't see myself fading away from it again as I appreciate the game itself more than I did when I was a teenager crushing on Andre.

Same thing with me, Kalli. My "tennis watching" in the eighties consisted of cheering for Andre, and cheering for anyone I thought Andre could beat later in the tournament(i.e. NOT Pete Sampras).
Once I got to the 90s, I became a little more diversified. Rafter and Guga were also favorites - unless they were playing Andre.
It's funny, and this is no slight against the thread starter, but the poll made me feel old, even though I typically feel anything but. I guess it suggests that it's assumed that nobody over the age of 45 knows how to use the internet. Maybe not too far from the truth...haha.
Anyway, I started watching tennis in the late 70's. Some good stuff back in the old days.
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
I first went to Wimbledon in 1997 and loved every minute of it so I started watching tennis and have been to Wimbledon every year since! although I only started following it seriously a few years later.
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
Started watching in the late 70 but my addiction to watch everything that involves a tennisball started only in the last decade.
Coverage of other tourny's than GS improved a lot
Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?
In the 90's. 1992-ish.
