In which decade did you start watching tennis and how you became a fan?

As it seems to be time for polls now on GM I thought about starting one myself I would like to know when you started to watch tennis:

In the 70ies?
In the 80ies?
In the 90ies?
Since 2000 and later?

I became interested in tennis in the early 80ies

most will answer "since 2000 and later". you can see that from the experience of most people.

Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?

As soon as I was old enough to understand it, which would be late 90's. I didn't really start watching it seriously, as in besides the GS's, until about 3 years ago though.

Rooting for: Roddick | Federer | Blake| Fish | Bryans | Gasquet | Querrey | Baghdatis | Verdasco | Kimmy
Missing: Andre | Safin | Women's tennis

Re: In which decade did you start watching tennis?

In the early 80s (McEnroe & Navratilova days), but I would be lying if I said I was extremely interested back then. My passion for the sport was a product of the 90s.
