Impressive young player, 6 games against Haase. Let' see if Nadal can do better.
Strange moment in second set at 2-2 or so. De Minaur put away a high ball that bounced very close to the net, while swinging his entire racket over the net, and the umpire for some reason ignored it. Haase complained but stayed relatively cool and went on to break him that game.
It will not happen, it can't happen, and maybe it should not happen. But if my dear countryman ''good old Robin'' goes all beast mode and defeats Nadal in the next round, if he faces him, my Roland Garros will be the best since 2009 when Federer won it. As much as I like to see Nadal going deep this year, that would be awesome
This was always a questionable WC choice given that De Minaur is better on faster surfaces and hasn't had great results on the few tournaments he played on clay this year. But I was never expecting the beatdown to be this severe.
