Rafa losing to Blake means Federer will break Connors' record

According to a Swedish tennis expert, Johan Porsborn, Rafa's loss in Shanghai RR secured Federer's breaking Connors' record of 160 succesive weeks at the #1 spot. The earliest Nadal can surpass Federer on the ranking is the 5th of March 2007, and at that time, Fed will have topped the ranking for 161 consecutive weeks.

EDIT: jtipson already posted about it in the Fed forum the day it happened.

Federer

Two records that Connors have still remain almost impossible to break: 109 tournament wins and 20 consecutive years as the biggest asshole on tour.

I don't like hypocrites, but even worse are the ones who think it's OK to be an asshole as long as you are not hypocritical.

Among that 70 US-challengers.

It's safe for some time that Federer breaks the record with the 160 weeks and he will make it 200 weeks, maybe 300.

I know, but it is still an official record. Personally I rate Lendl's 94 higher. About the record being safe, it apparently turned mathematically safe with the Blake d Rafa-result.

Re: Rafa losing to Blake means Federer will break Connors' record

Impressive and justified, Even more because it's not that there was somebody close to the number1 spot in this period!

Besides is nadal anywhere near the record for consucutive weeks at no2??
I will try to find out at the ATP site.......
