better player won. no breaks for rafa, solid from thiem. he has good pop on the ball, while rafa's don't have much and land short.

Thiem was absolutely GOATing. Play like that and he probably wins RG. Nadal's level was more or less what it has been all clay season, would have beat about anyone else.

I know everyone is going to slag Nadal off, can we just acknowledge that Thiem played brilliant tennis? Thanks.

Okay, you can carry on now...

Dominator in the house

Great result all-around, will also benefit Nadal IMO. His confidence shouldn't be shattered.

This is the first step on how to win RG for Thiem. The second will be to win the tournament in Rome; he needs to confirm.

Good match by him, well done.

I am not even disappointed to be honest. RAFA was tired AF today and was extremely lethargic. He needs to recharge his batteries for RG. Nice and well planned tank

Re: Rome QF: Thiem def Nadal 6-4 6-3

Theim played amazing with only a couple brief dips in level. Nadal was, for all intents and purposes, his normal self. Great match by Theim.
