Annual subscription to ATP Masters Series TV is $39.95. Feedback requested!!

I see that an annual subscription to Masters Series TV is $39.95. What do the people who have signed up think of it? Does it work well? How many matches do they show? I am a little nervous about the automatic billing (it says the $39.95 is a recurring charge). Is cancellation difficult? Any other pro / con comments would be much appreciated!!

I guess I could just pay $5 for TMC, but I don't want to lose the $39.95 deal. I thought last time I checked it was much more expensive.

Again, thanks for all comments and tips concering this.

It started out at $25 during th promotion period but you are right that it did go higher ($70 ? ) so 39.95 seems like a good deal. About the streaming - when it works, it works very well, the resolution is high quality so you can actually watch the ball. You do need a good broadband connection though.

There have been intermittent failures (especially when they created their own DRM just before the Madrid streaming). It also buffers sometimes when the load on their bandwidth is high. I guess they will increase capacity based on demand.

It only works on Windows.

Need ideas for a new signature...

I'm in the UK, so my feedback prob won't be useful to you as you will get a different package (a better one - live matches).

I got mine with the intro offer which worked out at something like £20, for £20 it's been worth it, I don't use it so much to watch the highlights of this year as I have Sky and see the matches live. However, it's been worth the money for all the past footage I've watched.

They have alot of things to work on when it comes to technical glitches etc, you would hope it will get better over time.

I wouldn't worry about any promo deal right now, I'm sure it will still be available, if not an even better one by the time IW comes around in 2007. Don't give them your money yet, although testing out the Masters Cup might be a good way to go so you can see what it's like.

lol... I've been a lurker here for like a year and only registered recently and I suppose it's weird that this would be my first post, but--

Yeah, I signed up for the free promotion phase (during Indian Wells) and the incentive for doing so was to have access to the annual recurring fee of $25. I have been extremely satisfied with the service, especially since my cable provider doesn't supply the Tennis Channel and I often miss Monte Carlo and Rome (I would have missed Madrid and Paris as well). The addition of live match streaming made the bundle all the more worthwhile and to be honest, knowing what I know now, I'd happily pay $70 for an annual fee. It's truly an amazing service and I'd say jump on this $39.95 special as soon as you can. The only thing I think they can do to improve the service now would be to archive full matches. As it is now, you can only watch full matches live. If you miss them, you only have access to the highlights. But the highlights are pretty good too, complete with stats and interviews. The even have some really old matches in the archives between Sampras and Kuerten, which I found to be a nice bonus.

So it is hit and miss, depending on the amount of traffic / users trying to access it seems. Still probably worth $40 for the year I think.

thanks,

I just have one question about this that i cant remeber from last year. Do they only show center court matches or can you chose from any TV court?

Depends. If the tourney has more than one televised court (for example Monaco or Hamburg), then yes. If not (Paris Bercy), then no.

Don't think I'll bother this year - the highlight thing is okay but I don't see why I in the UK should pay the same price for less of a service than those who get live streaming coverage.

No, you had no choice.
The only choice you had at the end of the year was between the live and the delayed coverage, but you couldn't choose the court.

I'm still pissed at them because they don't support Mac systems and there's nothing on their website that says so until AFTER you've paid them the fee. It took me four months to get reimbursed.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

No, not last year.
They had no livestream for Monaco or Hamburg anyway since it started with Toronto, but even for events like Toronto or Cincy, you couldn't choose the court when you were using the regular website (and not the livestreams which were posted here).

Ah ok, my bad then. I supposed that since ppl posted direct links for Cincy, the official site offered those too.
