Rome R3: Djokovic def. Bautista Agut 6-4 6-4

I really think it's time to bring Hawkeye to clay courts.

* That robbery from the umpire at 4-4 adv RBA (in the second set) while serving is unforgivable. Should have been 5-4 for him, and not be broken afterwards instead.

Nole keeps on improving, and he's scheduled to peak at RG.

How many clay matches have to turn on bad calls to bring Hawkeye to the surface?

Without that awful umpiring, this would have been a completely different match.

That point was stolen but the slighty more talented player won. Would have preferred RBA as his tennis is more aesthetically pleasing but that kind of playstyle can't counter moonballs.

Bautista got robbed terribly there. He was likely going to lose anyway but that was a shocking decision. He was on a roll when it happened too

Was Djokovic as complicit as Nadal in the Goffin incident?

The ball landed 2-3 cms out, I believe Djokovic genuinely did not seen his shot go out. Not sure he'd have given RBA the point though.
The problem is the umpire who was so blind to not see it was out.

Did he overrule a line judge's out call, or did nobody see the ball land out?

I agree about the clay Hawkeye thing, but Djokovic was just the better player, no way at that point of the match that bad call changed anything, Djokovic struggled with shaky

shots in the 1st set, both raised up their level in the 2nd set but Djokovic seemed to be the old one and dominated most part of the set

I am not blaming Djokovc for it but the umpire but surely Djokovic got lucky because it happened at a time when the momentum shifted towards RBA.

Nole won 55% of the points in each of the first two sets. In other words: total domination by Nole
