A half with Murray and Wawrinka...out emerges Isner and Zverev...

This basically means one of Isner, Zverev, Cilic or Raonic will make Rome F

Isner making almost all of first serves + Wawrinka's ROS = NID result.

One of the servebots/big guys will be in Rome final. Cilic/Raonic/A.Zverev/Isner

Hopefully Stan will play better in RG.

Why? Just why is he so embarrassing in non-Slam tournaments these days?

One of those times I can look at Isner making it into a clay MS QF to face Cilic and say "Good for the game."

Zverev and Cilic are really just big guys, far from being servebots. Hope they make SF and Zverev makes the final.

typically he hardly shows at most masters and this has been the case year to year. Might reach a random F once in a while but otherwise, R16 or earlier seems to be a common stumbling pt.
I will say in his defence that playing Isner is a lottery, even on clay his botting isn't exactly weakened that much and can still snatch TBs and demoralise the opponent. Even Nadal has lost TB sets to Isner on clay.

You didn't watch the match, i guess? Stan's ROS is pretty bad, as we all know; and Isner's 1st serve percentage was close to 90%.

You know that Stan is very inconsistent and he needed to play on very good level today, because Isner was serving like crazy. In the past Isner won 2 sets against Nadal in RG, so this is not the first time. I'm sure Stan would have won next 3 sets if it was Bo5.
