whatever happened to Jan Michael Gamble??

did he retire? This guy has really just faded away. He made a career out of scraping out a few good wins in American and Asian hardcourt tournies - his record in Europe was horrible. I remember when he beat Courier and Agassi at Indian Wells a few years ago, he was supposed to be the next great American hardcourt ball basher, but then Roddick came along and stole his thunder.

Roddick thunder-stealing aside, I'm pretty sure that some injuries had to do with Gambill's struggles on tour.

Just a mature response

I'm not sure what happened to him, think he may have retired but not too sure.

He's played 3 tourneys all year and retired in 2 of them...

he's hardly my fave player but I see no need to laugh at someone who's been struggling with pretty serious injuries

C'mon Jan-Mike rocks...

If there's a tennis player that is on the tour that looks like someone that would play me in my autobiographical movie, I mean, ya know closest resemblance it would be Jan-Mike.

haha...anyways this is a forum full of lazy posters...

Yes, I was at work all day . And yes, he has been injured, very badly, since about this time last year. He played team tennis for Houston in July, played Legg Mason in DC (lost to Henman in the second round), played the Binghamton Challenger the next week, retiring in the second round, and he's been home in Hawaii ever since, trying to heal the injury and come back. In the meantime, he's coaching a little bit and checking his myspace page at least once a day. If the injury heals, he'll be back.

It's Gambill, by the way.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
