Blake or Ancic?

Who's going to TMC? 7 places are secured, just one is waiting for 8th player to qualify. Who is it going to be? Blake or Ancic, it's almost for sure, but there is still Haas waiting for his chance. Haas can win it and secure his place for Masters. There are still bigger chances for Blake or Ancic to qualify.

Blake has 426 points, and Mario has 412, if Mario beats Nikolay Davydenko tomorrow he'll be "that one". If Kolya beats him, he has no chances to qualify anymore. So, all is on him. Blake can't do nothing, but wait.

Haas is playing Safin in quarters, and it is going to be an interesting match, if he loses, he will also lose every chance to qualify. He has to wait for Marios scores.

9th player has that chance, if somebody retires from TMC, he'll be the first alternate.

Who is it going to be?

Re: Blake or Ancic?

Blake is still favourite. Safin should take care of Haas and Kolya may well beat Ancic.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

I can't see Ancic beating someone as consistent and mature as Davydenko.

Re: Blake or Ancic?

I'm a big fan of both, so I have to go with Ancic so he can qualify, even though I want Kolya to get the #3 spot. I have a feeling Davydenko will win though. Stupid draw.

Re: Blake or Ancic?

Davydenko will probably win Paris now that Gasquet is gone

So I say Blake will not pay for his inept performance today

Re: Blake or Ancic?

I'd rather Haas get in over Blake and Ancic. However Tommy would need to win the whole thing and Ancic needs to lose tomorrow to Davydenko (which he will anyways imo). Blake to make it through, though he's playing like ASS and probably won't get a single win.

Andy Roddick.Fernando Verdasco.Richard Gasquet.Tommy Haas

Ancic beat Kolya last two times they met. So, I think it's not for sure. Well we'll see it tomorrow.

Re: Blake or Ancic?

All,

Blake lost two matches since he had won 8 in a row and two tournaments. Surely - all the players want to do well at the big ones - and may haps next year James will - but I still say winning 5 titles is excellent w/the depth of the tour being the way it is.

Tommy was on fire. His serve was great. James couldn't get to none of his first serves; which leads me to believe that Tommy was mixing them up better than he ever has when playing James. Tommy wanted this win bad. A player always feels better when they gain a win over someone that seemed to have said player's number. I think Haas plays better when his parents are in attendance.

The only player in the top ten James hasn't beaten this year is Federer right? He met Fed a one Slam and two Masters. Not bad atall.

May the luck of the draw fall as it may. James will be fine if he doesn't make Shanghai. He's made some money this year - and we know that is one of the reasons players play the game. Matter-of-fact - he's won more than most; w/the exception of Federer - Nadal - Roddick and whom else - Lubi or Davy?
