That was a magnificent performance by Pablo. Well deserved victory.

That was super impressive, Pablo had complete mastery of the court, both FH and BH unleashed deadly precision strikes, and Wawrinka looked slow and out of sync.

Pablo one of the best matches I've seen him play. Well deserved win. He was especially solid on serve - barely any points lost and no break points faced!

Really great tennis and form from Cuevas who plays the best tennis of his life
He can reach the final here or even win this tournament.
French Open semis or final seems possible as well.

At the same time - Murray, Wawrinka out and let's see if Nadal, Djokovic will play better - not sure though.

Clay court tennis being successful on clay is always a nice thing

Oh crap. Wawrinka screwed this up big time.

The trophy can be handed over to Nadal now.

Top half just exploded. Cilic to make the final.

Missing Grand Slam Epics:
-Australian Open: Murray vs Wawrinka
-French Open: Federer vs Murray
-Wimbledon: Djokovic vs Wawrinka
-US Open: Federer vs Nadal

The top seeds in the top half are playing like something that comes out of the bottom half. Players like Simon in the bottom half are playing like something's restricting their top half.

I'm quite Ok with another upset in the next match on Center court, but I really think that three will be more than enough

Re: Monte Carlo R3: (16) Cuevas def. (3) Wawrinka 6-4 6-4

He should just ask to be given Byes here instead of the 1st Rounds...I genuinely think he has a phobia on Masters R16s. At least can't say he tanked, he was just in one of his typical bad days where his energy is very low and can't dictate any points, can't find a potent first serve to save his life, slow to react on balls, and slow to move. Cuevas I thought played solidly, but as I said, Stan didn't play like an effective aggressive Top 10 player there, it is kind of like declined Berdych at times. Shots Cuevas did is what Stan usually does, with great 1-2 punch at times.

But yes, deep inside I'm SEETHING because with Murray gone, this would have been the perfect chance for him to get to another Masters Final, but as I said it just seems to be a thing with Stan in this particular round that I guess I just have to live with, and just hope he will have one of the matchup on that particular round that will be OK for him even if he's subpar. At least he's shown fighting this match so it doesn't look horrible. But I guess my hopes of him reaching #2 may just be a dream. Congrats again to Cuevas though, good draw to maybe even reach his first Masters Final.

I saw very little of this match, but it seems Cuevas was playing very well and Stan was clueless against him. Good from Cuevas, he's due a deep run in this tournament, I think. Would be nice for South American tennis.

Well-deserved win for Pablo!

Top half will produce an unexpected finalist. Hopefully not Cilic, that would be an insult to the sport.

Federer - Nadal - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Monfils - Thiem - Tsonga - Zverev - Kyrgios
