Monte Carlo R2: [4] Nadal def. Edmund 6-0, 5-7 6-3

RAFA reverted back to his crappy 2015 level in the 2nd set by donating that set

First set was VINTAGE RAFA - old glimpses of what GOATdal was capable of back in the day.

If RAFA plays like first set or maintains a level anywhere near that this is his title to lose irrespective of opponents.

Edmund certainly had his chances, but he was just awful on the big points.

None of the top 4 seeds exactly impressive in the first round, but all get through.

Good fight but looks like Nadal won't win any big titles on clay this year

Where are the people now, that said he is gonna beat Djokovic?

Missed the first set but some incredible forehand winners from Edmund in sets 2 and 3. Good on him.

With Murray and Novak's level as it was, Rafa is the favourite at the moment.

Edmund saw his fate when saw that pigeon. Nadal was still woeful though.

I'm not impressed.

The only consistant thing in this match was the desire of this fucking bird to be on the court.

Nadal needs to raise his level fast, or he will get roasted even on clay.

Federer & Wawrinka -> unstoppable Swiss power

Intriguing purple & lavender contest.
Nice tennis from Edmund in 2nd set.
3rd set not the best level.
Nadal still between easy wins and early losses.
Everything seems possible, also 3x #10

Nadal was not impressive at all. Edmund had very good shots, the guy has a future. At least Murray won in two sets unlike Nadal and Djokovic.

Its safe to say that had Edmund played Mugray today, he'd have lost. Edmund played one of his best matches and stll lost.

To be fair Rafa and Andy lose the same amount of games

Rafa - VEB - Fed - Sascha - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Kyrgios - Tsonga.

Djokovic was not really better against Simon. I don't know who of the two would win if they met, but I actually consider it not very likely that they will. Djokovic needs to beat Carreno Busta and Thiem/Goffin, Nadal at least Zverev.
