First set to Haas. He's just like good wine.

just to let you know we do not start threads for matches in progress (unless there is an extended delay overnight/rain delay). You can comment on live matches using the stickied live commentary thread: 2017 Live Commentary vol.6

When the match has finished you may post a thread for the result. Thus I am closing the thread and reopening it upon completion whereby this thread will indicate the final result.

MTF won't like this .

Seriously, I'm mildly proud of Tomas because I'm not really sure with him anymore. Last two sets were more like himself but I think he's losing his not great to begin with counterpunching ability. You could also see it especially in his match against Roger at AO and in the first set here. Just looks a little more stiff than he used to.

Never expected to see him that good on Clay. Can't wait for his real slams in Munich, Stuttgart, halle and Hamburg

Berdych just spoils all the fun but never wins when it matters.

Boring.

Berdych has a decent chance to reach the SF, that's how weak that top half is.

This is the gif I think about every time Berdych wins a match these days:

He's just impossible to get rid of. His desire of bending over to the top guys is just too strong. You know, he has 0% chance of winning anything big, but you also know he is gonna to the impossible to get there.

Why just he can't get into oblivion like Ferrer?

Re: Monte Carlo R2: Berdych def. Haas 3-6 6-1 6-4

Haas is definitely playing top 50 tennis at the moment. Hope he has a breakthrough on grass so he can have a proper ranking. We need to have a 40-year-old in the top 100 next year.

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.
