Federer was very poor today and showed why he has struggled in Miami for the last decade. I know Berdych is a mug these days but I fancy his chances against the old man here.

Well he made some standard errors, something we haven't seen from him this year. He was in practically every single RBA service game yet still needed two TBs to come through. RBA played well but Federer was average.

I don't expect Rogie to win Miami anyway (whether he had won the AO and IW or not). He very well may surprise me, but Miami hasn't been Rogie's best friend over the years, despite having the most match wins in Miami other than Agassi! Mind you Rogie's still off to a 16-1 start, which is amazing for a man 35 years old, let alone any age. How many men start off a season 16-1? Not too many?

I'm going with Rejuverer in two. Bendych aside, Roger will surely up his game once he starts facing tougher opponents.

Federer didn't play badly against Agut.

If he had, he would have lost. The margin between a 5-7 4-6 loss and a 6-3 6-4 win can be very small. In this match it could have been just a couple of points.

MTFers always grossly exaggerate the significance of wins and losses.

From what I saw against RBA Fed looks tired and vulnerable with 49% fs.

If Fed doesn't improve Berdych might take this.

On Miami website they were advertising tickets for Federer-Berdych on Thursday's day session.

Berdych last won a set and the match against Federer in Dubai 2013!! 0-4 in matches and 0-9 in sets since then and suddenly he has chance now? Federer in 2.

Federer looked done after Bautista Agut match. Was he just tired or in pain? Hard to tell.

Good thing that he has a day off. But i'm still not sure... it could be close. But i also thought Berdych would win against Federer at the AO, and look how it turned out. So i'm still going with Federer in 2.

I really am a bit annoyed at the amount of insecurity here, who isn't gonna feel a bit tired in a 2 hour match in hot sun? Being tired doesn't mean you still can't give it your all and he'll have enough rest to get ready for his next match, Federer isn't gonna play a perfect match all the time but the fact that he clutched it out in 2 is a positive sign. Relax and enjoy the fact that he's still in this tournament and look forward to his next match, without worrying too much, even if he loses it's still a decent run and he's had brilliant start to the year
