Fed, Nole, Nadal, Murray fanbase question

Ok I am new here.

Have to admit I am exhausted just to read all of the bickering between particular players fanbase and how one is pitched against another.

Is there anyone who actually go for Fed, Nadal, Nole and Murray and not exclusively one of them only?

Am I the only one who actually like all of these players (and a few other emerging ones like A Zverev)?

I do admit I like Federer the best but I would root for Nadal, Nole and Murray on any given day.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

hmm....interesting.....

When you are a real Federer fan you can't also like Nadal or Djokovic. That's not possible
I mean .. after you appreciate Federer's incredible charisma , class , attacking and beautiful style

how can you cheer for Nada's classless butt pickin , novack's lack of charisma , and murray's murraism

not possible just like what FedererTheOne said .
yikes...I have been living a delusional life, thinking I am a fedtard :grin2:... I will have to tell my better half that he is wrong... I am not really obsessed with Federer after all.

Thanks all, very interesting to see who you root for and why...

When Federer plays I root only for him.. if he is not around then it depends..

I think these four are great human beings with great tennis game.. different but unique... Nole took a while to like and Nadal was because he is such a nice bloke and is also a good friend of Federer.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I'm a fan of both Andy and Roger and consider them my two favourite players, which is pretty obvious in my posts. In fact, plenty of Fedtards seem to either like Andy too, or are indifferent to him. Likewise for Muzzatards with Roger.

Any other combination of the fanbases is rare though. All four (with the aforementioned exception of Fed/Muzza) hate each other for various reasons.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I've always been a big fan of the Federer-Nadal rivalry ever since that epic in Wimbledon 2008. I am die-hard Roger fan who also has immense respect for Rafa's achievements and ability, I always consider him the favourite in their matchups considering their H2H. With Djokovic once again I give him credit for what he has achieved and have put it into my signature, but I certainly don't support him. I have never been a huge fan of Murray I have to say, but he was impressive last year.

Other players I really like would be Nishikori, Raonic, Wawrinka and Del Potro.

I still want Federer to win every tournament he enters, though I would love it if Rafa could make it 10 RGs this year!

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I actually have a group of players I usually root for but in certain ranking position, Federer would come first, then a couple of newcomers like Thiem and Kyrgios, Delpotro would be

in the ranking too, and then I would root for Djokovic if he played against Murray and specially Nadal. But I really would root for any player who´s playing against Nadal, I just

don´t like Nadals style really

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I don't actually dislike any of the other big four, despite being a Federer fan. I respect what they bring to the sport. However, the Nadal and Djokovic fanbases on here seem to lack any respect for Federer or even previous greats like Sampras etc. They make it sweeter if Federer ever beats them.

Murray, I can take or leave, part of my reasoning though is down to the quagmire that is British politics (I won't bore you with all that, lets just say I think his knighthood is a joke, I don't blame Murray for it but a mockery of an honours system)!

Outside of the Big 4, I like Wawrinka, Del Potro and Gasquet mainly!

Very similar here, seem to have a lot of the same rooting interests... British politics aside.

I also don't dislike the other 3 guys, do not really root for them, but very much respect their accomplishments. I have at times pulled for Nole, when it meant slowing Nadal's achievements I must admit! At times I find Nole and Rafa's style of play annoying, but obviously do not know them personally so no hate there! I actually enjoyed some of Nole's comedy and imitations, and especially enjoyed when Johhny Mac came down out of the both at the US open to play a point against him...winning no less on a volley!

Sometimes I have been pulled into some arguments with fans here (friendly I would say, but not always logical :wink2:) because I just can't help myself! Not that any of this banter makes a difference! Just illogical or deluded arguments get a rise out of me!

I also like Stan, Delpo, and Gasquet - just loves the way he strikes the ball when playing well, just a shame he has not been able to achieve what I believe he is capable of. Also have enjoyed watching characters with decent game when firing like Fog, Verdasco, and Baghdatis...

Hate is such a strong word... I don't see how people could hate players whom they haven't known personally. I admit there are players I am indifferent to.

I find it hard that if you watch the AO17 final you wouldn't feel a twinge of sadness for Nadal. I certainly did.... my happiness to see a Federer win was only marred by seeing how sad Nadal was (yes if only for about 5 seconds).

To be more polite it should be dislike but when your are watching and rooting against one you dislike then that's corresponding to hating by all means

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I am a big federer fan. Not going to lie, when rafa loses early in a tournament especially a slam. I am way happier for some reason.

With that said. I admire nadal and djokovic the most. They made tennis more exciting and drama and they made me question if it was right for me to choose federer. But the end of the day i am and always will be a federer fan. Not only should federer succeed but others should fail.

I am very indifferent with murray. But i like stan more than murray

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

a group of us was watching AO17, we were all Fed fan of course. One friend though particularly "can't stand Nadal" (his words, not mine). We were watching the match between Nadal and Dimitrov... this friend, to everyone's amazement, was rooting for Nadal. His explanation was "I know Federer could beat him (Nadal) so I want him in the final to see his beaten face"... this is as close as I get to seeing someone "hating" a player.

Fandom is a restless and tormenting beast.

Who is that your friend? That seems very Impressive and I am surprised that he is confident enough to support Rafa assuming Roger beat him....He seems more Roger fan than many of his fans here...:wink2:

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I like Novak Djokovic.
Do not mind Andy, and some of the Aussie players.
Do not support Federer or Nadal, but try to remain objective and impartial.
Primarily a Djokovic fan but I also like Murray

I dislike the other two, specially Fed
Did you see how the people in Mexico reacted to Djokovic? I thought he was royal by the way they cheered. I was very happy for him. It is a shame he didn't progress any further but I am sure he would be back to his old self soon enough.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

The are lots of supporters of 2 or more of them at the same time here. There are fans of Fedal here too actually, so such combinations are possible. Typically I ignore posts (and threads) about fan wars. Stay here for a while and you will get some good discussion.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

How can one like mutually exclusive things is beyond me.

THE Majestic , No-sweat , Graceful , peRFect , Precize , elegant , demigod-like , On-the rise , ALPHA , SMART , well-varied game of FedGod to the Buttpicking , slowly recovering , sweaty , no-talent-genes , always playing the percentages game of Dull.

??? Answer me ???
The only thing Nadal is better than Federer at is Speed (though not quickness) , Passion (in overcomeing the odds being the underdog) and Never surrendering.

I am a Davydenko fan (Nalbandian and Hewitt being my second favorites)

In order:

Federer
Murray (his game is full of brains especially pre-2011)

Dull

Joke (inferior version of Dull's mentality and talent)

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

I like different players. Roger for his tennis and personality, Rafa for his attitude and clay court results, DelPo for being the toughest opponent for the top guys (pity he was injured during Djokovic's prime, Novak should be happy about this), Wawrinka for having a great BH and for his achievements being Switzerland's number 2 (his words) which is mentally tough. And guys like Thiem, Zverev and Kyrgios have my blessing, because they're attacking players which is refreshing after the 'Djokovic era' with too much defensive/negative tennis.

Roger and Rafa brought tennis to a higher level. Years ago they were written off by many people/journalists/delusional fans and look at them now. The start of 2017 must be very hard for these people to comprehend. Especially the way Roger is playing now and still changing his game. I remember many Djokovic and even Nadal 'fans' who stated Roger was done, he should retire and he only won grand slams because of a weak era. They'll probably say the same thing right now, because he won the AO. I just have one thing to say to these people: IN YOUR FACE!!!

It's not that I dislike Djokovic and Murray (after Roger still the most talented player I think), but their generation lacks depth in many ways. Even their rivalry is sort of boring. Doha 2017 was the first Djokovic-Murray I enjoyed. Not taking anything away from them, it's good for Novak he joined Roger's and Rafa's level, but his current decline is symbolic for the lack of great players during his dominant years. Most of the time it was 'good old' Roger to make life difficult for him and not one of his peers.

That's one of the reasons I like what happens in tennis these days. Up and coming young players and the legends of the game still present to compete. Roger winning his 18th, Rafa having a chance to reach 10 French Opens and they're leading the Race to London. So happy for them and the world of tennis.

Re: fed, nole, nadall, murray fanbase question

My prirority: Federer (and Wawrinka), then Djokovic, then Murray then Nadal.

I actually like Djokovic, but I don't mind seeing some low-ranked players upset him, because I love upset.

I am neutral to Murray. I respect him but honestly I don't have much emotion for him, neither love nor hate.

I also respect Nadal, a great player. But I really want him to lose the most among bìg 4.

Federer fan here. I don't mind Nadal and Murray. Dislike Djokovic and love seeing him lose.
