Today after Nadal lost, a co-worker of mine who don't like Federer much (psssss, he's a huge Roddick fan, so you don't have to ask why)
; anyway he says that Nadal loses close matches because players try harder agaisnt him and then roll over and play dead when they're in a winning poisition agaisnt Federer. I told him he sound like those sore losers on MTF, always complaining when Federer wins a close match because they wanted him to lose. I told him Roger win most close matches because his way better then the rest of the field. But then I got to thinking; I have this cousin that any game we play agaisnt him, we try to win at all cost; not because we dislike him, but because we hate the way he acts when he's winning. He has a smirk on his face all the time, he makes smart comments, and the worse part, he does this stupid victory dance that makes him look like a chicken
It's really irritating. He's really a very nice guy outside of any competition. Nadal is very close to Hewitt (eventhough his fan hate to admit it) when it comes to irritating his opponents. I know his fans think his on-court behavior is passionate & cute, but if you were the other guy on the other side of the net, it must be irritating. While Roger don't try to irritate his apponent by celebrating each good point. I do believe there's a certain truth to this theory because it's easier to lose to an opponent that's not so in your face. I mean, I don't believe that the players go around reading each others after match interviews, so on court behavior is probably what they're being judge on.
Anyway, don't flame me, it's just a theory!
