Shapo knew he had this in the bag when he was informed he was facing Ruben, doesn't get any easier than that.

Shapovalov has mentioned that with the incident he decided to up his focus and professionalism on the court both in matches and in practice. In a strange way, that incident might be a springboard for him in upping his mental and overall game.

Re: Drummondville Final: Shapovalov d. (4)Bemelmans 6-3 6-2 for 1st Challenger Title

Anyone know why he withdrew from his last tournament (a Future) before his semi-final? It couldn't have been too serious given that he played and won this Challenger days later. Just curious what it was.
Convenient that it gave him a breather during this blitz he's on.

The youngest player with one-handed backhand to win a Challenger since Gasquet. And Denis actually has a forehand and a serve!

Let's hope both Shappo and FAA go to achieve great things in their careers. Both have likeable games. It'd be funny to see a Canadian rivalry at the top. When was the last time an ATG rivalry between two non-USA compatriots happened?

If you tell me what ATG stands for I might be able to answer that.
