Rafael Nadal: Good things can happen...but especially can happen on Clay.

Nadal lost on hard courts, but is mentally gearing up for an assault on clay...
If he can do well in Miami, and stay injury free, he'll have a lot of confidence heading to Monte Carlo, no?

2017 Monte Carlo poster

Will Rafa be the favorite to take La Decima in Monte Carlo? Who else that will play can take it from him?

The official Entry list will be available on March 22.

Respectfully,

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

I mean pre clay tournaments can give us some hints about what he will do on clay

just like Federer , the way he is attacking now even on slow courts .. show us that he will kick ass in wimbledon no worries .

the thing is , nadal showed exactly nothing , nothing at all to tell that he will be something special in the clay season , and I would say his best result will be a masters sf if he can make it due to easy draws .. mug opponents etc etc .. just like what happened in AO

CALL 911 , FEDERER JUST GOT OUT OF JAIL

Look at that booty, show me the booty
Give me the booty, I want the the booty
Back up the booty, I need the booty
I like the booty, oh what a booty

Shaking that booty, I saw the booty
I want the booty, lord what a booty
Bring on the booty, give up the booty
Loving the booty, round booty

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

Nadal should be favorite for MC, but he's pretty vulnerable ATM to big hitters and whether he'll win there may depend on the draw, and the recovery of Djokovic and Murray. I wouldn't assess Nadal's chances on clay based on his level on HC, especially since he hasn't faced many top players since Australia.

Enjoy every moment of tennis. Enjoy the rise of the young, the brilliance of the peak, and the passion of the old. Enjoy dominance, enjoy diversity.

Nadal should be considered early favourite in big clay tournaments and I still believe Djokovic will be the main threat for him. Then you have wawrinka who is inconsistent, but can take out both Djokovic and Nadal if he's on. I'm not sure Clayray will be able to challenge these guys.

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

He's probably not wrong. Djokovic is his main threat on clay, and he doesn't look like winning anything right now. Murray is in poor form. Maybe Fed's new backhand will make him more deadly on clay, but that remains to be seen. Wawrinka will probably threaten sometimes, but will also lose to Ramirez-Hidalgo at some point or something.

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

Even if it is clay we're talking about Nadal is extremely vulnerable to big hitters lately. I wouldn't be surprised if someone managed to break through his defenses like Querrey and Fed did.

Clay season is more open than ever IMHO.

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

Good to see Nadal is finally abandoning the false modesty. So, now he's saying he's gonna win everything on clay? But I thought he would need to play very good, otherwise he can lose to anyone, no?

I think Dull will find a way to lose Mickey Carlo, but he will win the Barcelona Challenger as usual, since he has only Pushikori as a rival there. Not sure about Madrid, but a possibility too. Forget about Rome and Rolang Garros, he's not winning. Zero chance.

Sorry, I was out after I posted this and couldn't answer.

The link to the article is on the image.
Or you could have googled the thread title and it would be right on top.

Note that I almost always post links to articles I'm mentioning unless an oversight...

Re: Rafael Nadal: I lost, but wait until the Clay.

People forget Kei, Last year or before Kei gave a run for the money in the finals but lost after leading a set and 4-2.

Many good clay players can take this Rafa out like Zebellos did a few years back.

This Rafa clearly is not invincible in clay.

no. Juan martin Del Potro
