Madrid Masters BallGirls

Quality stuff.

Anyone else find themselves staring at them? Anyone got any pics?

Re: Madrid Masters BallGirls

Why do they randomly switch back and forth between them and regular ballkids?

I support a lot of mugs.

Sorry, have to disagree, here.
I very well know those are beautiful girls - but it's another poor attempt to attract viewers' attention for the WRONG REASONS.

Adding to this - nearly all pro players were ballboys/girls in the beginning of their carreer - why take away that experience from upcoming players to benefit those who are already so very lucky to have the 'right' looks?

Re: Madrid Masters BallGirls

I think it's a bad idea. There will also be male models at the WTA end of the year championships in Madrid this year (if I am not mistaken). It's going to be hilarious.

The model ballgirls are a bit slow compared to the ballkids, which is understandable since they are much taller and not trained for this as well as the kids. I noticed Nadal was annoyed with them a couple of times when they didn't understand what he was asking. He didn't seem very impressed by their charms.
They are mostly good looking but I thought a couple of them looked anorexic.

Re: Madrid Masters BallGirls

I first noticed the outfits and then that there were only ball girls; and attractive ones at that. I was rather surprised.

I think it is unfortunate, mostly for the young tennis enthusiast who are missing this opportunity to be ball boys/girls. Also, I am not sure it is the best way to attract more people to tennis... It has a rather trendy feel to it. I rather hope the idea does not catch on.

But my opinion matters little enough...

Agree with you here. Adding model ballgirls who stumble around turns the sport into a joke. It turns Madrid into a joke.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Right, and also exploiting women just for the looks. I found that very demeaning as a woman.

Thankees, dear people. Glad to read I'm not the only one to have slight questioning thoughts on this move...

Yeah. Indeed. Couldn't agree with you more... a typical example of exploitation.

Glad to read *some* players have already outed their complaints, if even in a very subdued manner. (No, no names here )

Re: Madrid Masters BallGirls

I find the ball girls distracting - I don't even like girls that way. Maybe if they were wearing normal ballkid clothes.....Rafa obviously isn't particularly thrilled with having inexperienced ballpeople. can't blame him. Why don't they just put slot machines at every seat? Then it can REALLY be like Vegas. sigh.

yeah, indeed.
Noticed Rogi to be slightly irritated with them as well, and rightfully so.
This ain´t a circus / this is tennis. At least I hope so...
