Re: Indian Wells R1: Khachanov def. Robredo 6-1 7-5

If Khachanov learns that there is no need to hit the ball as hard as possible every single time, he will get far in his career.
The talent is there
vladisimo, FelipeL and POTUS Haase like this.

Weak era argument destroyed by the fact that almost half top 50 players are over 30 years old.
So if Roger's era is weak, this one is (by far) weaker

In contrast to some lovely user here I won't start relentlessly bashing his personal GOAT for losing a match.

Also, khachanov is quite a nice future prospect, good to see him winning

Re: Indian Wells R1: Khachanov def. Robredo 6-1 7-5

A pretty poor performance from Tommy. He did dominate the second set but it wasn't to be. Too many poor UEs and relentless ball bashing from Khachanov. Tbh though this isn't even the focus, RG is clearly on his mind and more so the clay season where he can definitely do damage.

I'm not liking the sped up courts here either. Obviously another thing that counted against Tommy

Look at the bigger picture though:
Nice appearance fee, more match practice under his belt, allows Khachanov to break his losing streak - As they say 'winner winner chicken dinner'

Much needed win for Karen. He lost to Sock, Paire, Coric, Simon and Bautista Agut in his last few tournaments. All of those winnable matches but couldn't find the consistency to come through them so winning against an expirenced player such as Robredo is good for him.

Favourable draw here too with Goffin up next.

Nick Kyrgios - Roger Federer - Dominic Thiem

Almost lost a set to a semi retired player I think silent K got an easy draw or else his losing streak would've continued.
