Brad Gilbert's Record Vs Top Players

So I'm reading BG's book, Winning Ugly and find it's quite an education. I had read off wiki bg's accomplishment of achieving a rank high of 4 in the world, five titles in a year, and 5 million in prize money but his tennis acumen becomes more crystallized when i see his records vs top players. for someone w/o any major weapons other than his mind, its very impressive.

Here's some that he's mentioned so far:

Gilbert v Sampras 4-5
v Chang 2-3
v Becker 4-6
v Connors 3-5
v Stich 2-2
v Agassi 4-4
v Courier 2-2
v Wilander 1-1

But some recs werent so pretty:
v McEnroe 1-13
v Edberg 4-15
v Lendl 0-16

I highly recommend his book. It totally is changing my perspective on how to approach what were casual matches.

Re: Brad Gilbert's Record Vs Top Players

The Lendl one is priceless.

I am a fan of Federer, Gasquet, Baghdatis, the long-deceased Safin, Youzhny, Nalbandian, Rochus, Tsonga, the sadly-departed Santoro, and good, hearty, competitive tennis matches. The quality of my life does not rest solely on who wins these matches. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.

[B]BTW~~ Gilbert`s always lauded for his mental strength but I`ve always found it ironic that Brad lost the last 8-finals of his career
........
........Up to mid-1990 Gilbert had a 20-12 record in finals>> pretty impressive ..However he never won another one >> losing the last eight in succession
[/B
]
.....Maybe that`s why his vision was 20:20 as a coach!!!
