Blake d. Nieminen 6-4 6-2 for his 5th title of 06

Fifth title of the year for James!

Solid performance never giving Jarkko chance and challenging him on almost every service game. He's now a perfect 4-0 against Jarkko, but this is his first straight set victory over Nieminen as well as his first ever title defense. James now extends his lead over Robredo in the Race to Shanghai to 15 points.

Great job James, now carry this form into Madrid and tear through that difficult draw.

Re: Blake d. Nieminen 6-4 6-2

James getting closer to a TMC berth. Incredible optional results.

He is joint second with Nadal for titles won this year behind only Federer.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

Re: Blake d. Nieminen 6-4 6-2

5 tournaments this year. Only 1 player has won more events.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 18 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 28 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 12 GS, 5 Year End Masters, 30 Master Series.

I think Blake stands a very good chance of reaching the Madrid semis.

Re: Blake d. Nieminen 6-4 6-2 for his 5th title of 06

100% first serve points won? Very nice, James.

Gosh, are u gonna need some luck in Madrid. Tursunov is playing really good right now and he's finally had a little rest since Davis Cup so that'll be a really tough order for James.

Good luck, James! But most of all, well done.
