Disgusting. Dolgopolov was clearly tired but why win the second set and then retire after one game in the third? Anyway, great couple of weeks for the Dog. I hope he keeps up this run of form going forward.
Adrenaline. After TB ends, it goes back to normal levels and he can't stand the tiredness anymore. Also, might have picked up an injury which would have gone worse if he continued to play.
I just checked out the last part of the match and it seemed that PCB was too passive in the TB, letting Dolgo dictate play without moving a lot. In the third set the cramping was finally too much and he could barely move, understandable after a long week before, beating Nishikori and Ferrer, marathon yesterday and 2 grueling sets today.
Only 3 seeds made it past R1 but all are in the semis.
Carreno Busta is edging remarkably close to the top 20. Never thought I would see that... fair play, he has played solid stuff all season, but I make this judgement just from seeing his results and not really watching him closely that much.
