Todd Woodbridge d. Johan Ortegren 60 60 60 in 50 minutes

at Wimbledon 3rd round qualifying in 2001. This match has always amazed me.
I could see it in 1st round, but after Ortegren had already won 2 matches? Unbelievable. It's one of 3 "tricycles" that i know of - the others were Lendl-Skoff at USO and Bruguera-Champion at RG.

Skoff and Lendl never played at the US Open.

The below should confirm that.

http://www.atptennis.com/3/en/player...&player2=lendl

1989 Hamburg F Lendl 6-4 6-1 6-3
1988 Monte Carlo R16 Lendl 6-3 7-5

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Lendl did however beat Barry Moir of South Africa 0, 0 and 0 in the opening round in New York in 1987.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

my apologies to Skoff, i don't know why i got him confused with Barry Moir.

but how do you lose a best of 3 sets match in 50 minutes? That's 3 consecutive 15 minute sets with the 2 minute breaks in between. Has anyone ever seen Ortegren play?

Volandri could do it. Or maybe if Ricardo Mello had a tougher draw in 2005.
