In 2003, Coria won Stuttgart, Kitzbuhel and Sopot in consecutive weeks.

Oh, and he did it without dropping a set.

And now he is not even in the top 80.

Re: the week after you win a tournament...

Although you're right, it's not as bad as I expected. Most of those early losses are explainable. Half of the time some random loser all of a sudden wins a tournament and doesn't know how to handle it and loses R1 next week like he always does. And the other half are losses against better players (Nalbandian, Federer, Ljubicic). And then we have some stupid losses like Fededer against Murray (although 7th match in 8 days) and Gasquet against Marach (can't think of any reason whatsoever here).

ROGER FEDERER

Berdych, Blake, J. Johansson, Ljubicic, Nalbandian and Tursunov

Re: the week after you win a tournament...

Interesting, I wonder what the records are for those who made finals but did not win. Do they face early exits as well? You would assume, if the reason for loss was being tired from played through all of the previous week..

Those were the days.

Now he can't get a 1st serve in for consecutive matches.
