Perfect start to the year - straight sets against a dangerous opponent, even though they have a lop-sided H2H

Not the best, man.. Not the best. Tons of short balls, tons of slices, not a lot of pace. Although, in cases when opponent chips-and-charges to Delpo's BH it seems like JMDP keeps finding his way out of these situations with either an uncomfortable slice/lob or a nicely placed 2HBH. Hopefully he will work his way into it later on in the season.

He looked pretty okay considering it was his first match of the year. If he's to win the title it'll be very tough since Raonic is still there.

Re: Delray Beach: Del Potro def. Anderson 6-4 6-4

Nice start to the year,
good scheduling plan with a long break after DC,
a clever idea to start the season at a ATP 250.

Anderson actually is quite a very hard 1st opponent, but seems not so good in form at the moment.

He's coming from a longer hiatus than Del Potro...

Hopefully Delpo with decent showings in Delray and Acapulco to get a seed for IW/Miami.
