WWW? Rotterrdam QF: [3]Goffin-[5]Dimitrov

3rd meeting in a month, interesting to see how Goffin fares this time, since it's once again a crucial match for his mission to top 10. He won exactly 9 games the last two times, at least an improvement would be welcome for his mentality.
Dimitrov looks unstoppable this year, being so high on confidence definitely makes one favor his chances.

Enjoy every moment of tennis. Enjoy the rise of the young, the brilliance of the peak, and the passion of the old. Enjoy dominance, enjoy diversity.

Fight. Drama. Shots. Epic matches, fun stats, tennis!

Re: WWW? Rotterrdam QF: [3]Goffin-[5]Dimitrov

Dimitrov should win this comfortably as Goffin lacks the weapons to hurt him consistently. After a first set wobble, Dimitrov was awesome today and Goffin's only chance is if Dimitrov's success last week catches up with him and he runs out of steam. Dimitrov should be fine though and take this in 2.

Waltz? Surely, he's doing a Cha-Cha-Cha. Especially on Goffin...

Re: WWW? Rotterrdam QF: [3]Goffin-[5]Dimitrov

Just found this on Rotterdam's official site:

Bolded part, according to my translator:
I actually have no expectations for the remainder of this tournament.

Not sure it's accurate though.

Hopefully @Chris Kuerten or another dutch poster can confirm if it's accurate or not.

Google translate says the same thing. If this is indeed his mindset, it means that he is out of ideas and not very optimistic. He's lost it already

Re: WWW? Rotterrdam QF: [3]Goffin-[5]Dimitrov

I think no expectations just mean "whatever will be, will be" just to not put pressure on himself.

This is just like a comedic tragedy now -- stopped Goffin by adding another 360 points (that is BIG) in AO, and stopped him in Sofia on the Finals when winning that will mean possibly 2 or 3 matches for Goffin to secure Top 10 next week. But now, Goffin has to face someone with a "false seeding" (as Dimitrov went higher than Berdych this week, and should've been at least an SF matchup) against probably the most in-form player of the season to just reach the Semis (in which mind you, the only round that starts that either player could gain ranking points).

To tell the truth this could be his persistent test, to try and beat Dimitrov maybe and get to that Top 10 spot. If he wins here, he does have a good chance against possibly Domi (who Goffin does against in HC) and secures Top 10 in the Final I think.

Its like Goffin is in a version of Groundhog day. He will never be allowed to exit rank #11 before he learns the true value of beating Dimitrov.

Good way to put it. He will have to defeat the lesser version of Federer in order to rid himself of his deep fanboyism. This might be his coming of age.

Defeating Ferrer and Milos was Kei's coming of age in 2014. Goffin needs to step up because if he's not beating Dimitrov (hell, even take a set) how much can he do to the other guys not named Tomas?

Goffin should not beat Dimitrov now. Let some people think Dimi has his number.
Time will come when Goffin will beat him. Those who makes the draw for sure know Istomin,Goffin are beaten by Dimitrov for nth time. So he could easily gain points and get in top 10 or even in top 5.

They'll have played against each other in three consecutive tournaments with this match.

As for the match, I'll keep my expectations low. Dimitrov in 2. Hopefully Goffin can prove me wrong.
