Re: Federer d Becker 6-3, 6-4

Thats the sort of scoreline I would have expected for him against his first opponent who took him to two tie breakers as well as Suzuki.

Hopefully he will have worked his way into a good rhythm by Madrid.

BTW, By reaching the final he has earned 175 points which is what he would have achieved had he defended his Bangkok title so should he win in Japan he's total will just increase more so.

Way to go Roger, now Henman or Lee in the final. Good luck against both of them. Hope he plays Henman though, would be great if two good friends could play each other in the final.

Re: Federer d Becker 6-3, 6-4

I always thought Federer could win against B Becker. However, I think Becker was better 20 years ago than he is now.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

I'm sure that's healthy for their relationship...

Good job.

Sounds like a solid scoreline- did anybody see the match?

I do not think that Roger would like to see Henman losing in the Semis, especially since he had such a hard time during the last months. You do not seem to understand the mind of professional athletes. Henman is certainly thrilled with the mere thought of playing the number 1 player at a big stage in the Tokyo final, they know each other for a long time, they are good friends and professional sportsmen, I am sure they would love to play against each other.

Re: Federer d Becker 6-3, 6-4

I was hoping Becker could make Federer some more trouble.

It was still a good tournament for him. Maybe he should have played Metz instead, but now he'll most likely hit the Top50, and then we will maybe see him in Davis Cup action.
