Bad scheduling?

there are 10 top 20 race players playing in Vienna next week ( Ljub, Rod, Nalb, Bagh, Haas, Gonz, Step, Hew, Djo, Fer)

and only 1 in Moscow - Davydenko

wouldnt it make more sense to go play in Moscow if you are looking for points where there is a much easier draw?

Andy Murray ~ Richard Gasquet ***David Nalbandian*** Rafael Nadal ~ Gilles Simon

Oh also, I know that the points for Moscow have gone down from 50 to 35 this year but still...

Re: Bad scheduling?

Well, with the rest of the Top 20 in Vienna, Davydenko has a golden opportunity to earn a ticket to Shanghai by winning Moscow.

Why Moscow has only 35 points? Prize-money is 1.000.000$!

LUSO TÉNIS - Ténis português

FREDERICO GIL - RUI MACHADO - GASTÂO ELIAS - LEONARDO TAVARES
MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO - NEUZA SILVA - FREDERICA PIEDADE - MARIA JOÃO KOEHLER - MAGALI DE LATTRE

Re: Bad scheduling?

To answer the question though...the top players get in by direct acceptance and don't have the issue of "alternates." Once they choose a tournament, that is it. They don't get the chance to swap. Play or withdraw...simple

http://stevegtennis.com/atpres.htm

Probably a typo...steveg still has it listed as 250 pts.

Vienna has one hell of a draw this year. Unfortunately tennis is not popular in Austria

Re: Bad scheduling?

moscow should not be 50 points. it hasn't had a half-decent men's draw in years

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world

Re: Bad scheduling?

The problem with Moscow is the distance players have to travel to get to Madrid. Also, there must be a 3 hour time difference.
