Lee def. Robredo 7-6 4-6 6-1

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread for this yet.

Well done Lee. This was revenge for his loss at the US Open.

This incredible year for Lee keeps getting better. He's now just one win away from overtaking Scrichaphan to become Asia's new #1.

Not really surprised by this...Lee is in his 30s and having his best year. An inspiration to those thinking of hanging their racquets up. Well done!

Nice fight by Takao today too

I care about this result only because it keeps James ahead of Tommy in the MC race. Thanks, Lee

Re: Lee def. Robredo 7-6 4-6 6-1

I was at the US Open when Lee played Robredo and I watched the set that Lee took and then left to watch another match, and I almost expected Lee to win that match, even though he didn't.

I know Robredo isn't exactly "top 10 material" as a lot of people here say, but it was a good win for Lee!

well, i was big on robredo if that answer your question. he beat lee at the us open, is the better overall player and needed points for Shanghai. therefore it was one hell of a surprise for me that he lost this match and gave away a good chance to reach the final.

Really? Sorry to hear that mate. I'd have hit the 2.50 odds on Lee. Both players play similar styles...Lee on fire and Robredo isn't. Value.

I'd watch out for Lee in that SF as well...he could take either Henman or Ancic

not really...he is not the strongest of players mentally...and to be honest i think this whole shanghai thing is putting more pressure on him than even he realised. by his own admission he got distracted by a linecall in this match against lee and gave up. that is not top 10 attitude.
