@Quickstrike Supprt is great and all, but the moment someone is cheering for a Double Fault, you know it's time to draw the line, and it was sort of during the match (although can't blame them much seeing how they saw Janowicz being easily agitated).

We'll see if he can keep this up or go back to terrible form. Also wonder if it's just the motivation to play against a top 20 player. as he seems poor against the lower ranked guys.

That backhand pass to save BP in the 3rd set is easily one of the best shots Dimitrov has hit ever, I have no idea how he did that, just brilliant shot.

Troicki next, he gave Dimitrov a lot of trouble last year, but I really hope given Dimitrov's current form he'll have no issues and wins comfortably, but I'm not ruling out any possibilities.

Janowicz should improve his ROS . He could win this match if he had a good ROS. Maybe he needs more matches .

I don't understand the obsession with the crowd, do you really find it satisfying for them to not get what they want, you don't even know anyone of their name lol...

I understand the annoyance, but cheering against a player because of it, I don't get that

Troiski is in good form as well . I expect really tough match b/w this two.

Re: Sofia R2: [3] G.Dimitrov def. J.Janowicz 4-6 6-3 7-5

Very nerve-wracking match. Jerzy is a difficult opponent for Grigor as it's hard to establish any rhythm vs him. Jerzy was also serving like a monster. But Grigor stayed focused and hit some big shots and did what he had to do to win. Expecting a better game from Grigor vs Troicki.

Those of you using such strong words to describe the crowd that was cheering so loudly... shame on you. Their support for Grigor is extremely passionate and many of them have only just recently become tennis fans. Instead of insulting their demeanor, why not be happy that Grigor is growing the game? These "noob" tennis fans will watch more games and learn the "proper way" to support and tone it down a bit (though I don't think they need to, the atmosphere was great). But calling them disgusting is IMO uncalled for, considering half that stadium is watching a live tennis match for the first time... and its frigging Grigor who is pretty huge in Bulgaria and is playing his first match there in a long time. Plus it was funny seeing Janowicz getting frustrated

We need more matches with this level of crowd involvement. So good.

If he had better ROS and better head on his shoulders he would not be where he is now. He would be a top-15 player... But the same holds true for any other player too - strengthen their weaknesses and they'd be much better tennis-players...

So would Janowicz be classified as a servebot?

What a crowd! Sophia, we salute you.

It's a shame more tennis matches aren't played in that kind of atmosphere because that was electric. Nervy start from Grigor but he kept his cool and after he saved those BPs at the start of the 2nd set, he seemed to started to settle and turned the match around. He should have got a double break in the 2nd set but at least he held serve to level the match. The 3rd set was nail-biting, especially that incredible backhand pass from Grigor to save BP and he drew a lot of energy from the crowd to finally break and serve it all.

Grigor wasn't at his best but hopefully he will settle his nerves and start enjoying playing at home. I can't wait till his next match in front of that crowd.

It is actually sad...guy was the first of Gen Useless to reach a Masters Final AND a Slam SF and seems to be on course to crack the Top 10. I always think of him as part of Nishikori, Dimitrov and Raonic's group. I feel frankly he has more potential than Raonic actually but after an injury derailed him early 2014, he just didn't look like the same promising youngster. His frustrations is not only of the small things but also IMO from a constant burden for him of "why I am not at the top when I could compete like this?".

Yeah, it sucks that he fell off the way he did. But if he continues his play from today, I could see him climb back up the rankings quickly. I haven't seen much of Jerzy, but based on the match today, his serve is definitely more electrifying than Raonic's.

Re: Sofia R2: [3] G.Dimitrov def. J.Janowicz 4-6 6-3 7-5

This was the Janowicz we all know and love. Such amazing touch for a giant. I don't think you can fairly call him a servebot. That annoying grunt after the serve has gotten louder I think, but maybe he was just trolling the crowd. I was really impressed by how well he held his nerve throughout the match considering the overwhelming crowd support for Grigor. In the end Grigor was just more clutch on big moments, which is what makes the difference between top-16 and top-200. I can't see the rest of his matches being this tight, except a final against a confident RBA.

Side note: I love how the moment Grigor starts winning again, all the haters come out of the woodwork. A surprisingly high number of them are Fedtards too. Changed your tune since that SF against Nadal, have you? It's gonna be an interesting season.

@Quickstrike The problem is Janowicz is living off his Protective Ranking. He needs many matches probably, and wait for that "Del Potro" moment as I say to feel confident on his game. A big result somewhere is all he needs IMO to feel like he's back on track. My issue though is am I not sure is he's able to this year.

Yeah, that crowd was LOUD, lol. So passionate, it's awesome to see. I wish matches with this kind of atmosphere were more common.

Jerzy was noticeably irritated at some points, but all things considered he really did hold his nerve well. As did Grigor, playing on home soil and all.

A Grigor - RBA final would be ideal. Last years champion vs the hometown favorite. It would be an exciting match, no doubt.

And yep, the haters are definitely coming out from under their rocks again. I expect even more in the coming months
