In 2009 the Masters Cup should move to...

I am curious what the favourite place to host the Masters Cup is among MTF's readers... This discussion was started in this thread, and i added some other places that were mentioned in the ongoing discussion... If you have your own idea, please post!

London sounds good to me, but Frankfurt would be prefect.

Other: New Orleans. What better way to show that the city is back. The Superdome would be perfect.

I think it should stay in Asia.

I'd love it!! I live in Baton Rouge so that's just a 1 hour drive for me. Or if I decide to go to Tulane, that's just 15 minute walk!!

The U.S. would be a ridiculoud choice, they are already having aa GS, the two biggest TMS, another TMS, and several IS tournaments. But since the ATP is based in the States they might actually be so stupid. South America or Africa (maybe Capetown in South Africa), every region that has a tradition of good players but no big event should be considered as a possible place for the TMC.

The US is a big country. The only big tournament in the south is Miami and that's maybe 2 days away from me. obviously, they can't plan the TMC around my location but I do agree to some extent. that the US has a lot of the bug tournaments.

In South America.

Lots of players in the top 100, tennis tradition, lots of tennis fans, no big tournaments. Time Zone and facilities wouldn't be an issue.

I voted for London - Royal Albert Hall is used for some tennis exhibitions and I think the last seniors event of the year.

I think it makes the most sense to keep it in or near Europe as the tour ends in Paris.

I know how you feel, I would also like to have the TMC around the corner
And you are right, the US are huge, I have just spent my summer traveling the eastcoast. But wouldn't it be great if tennis would be brought to people, who do not have several tournaments each year in their country like in the US or Western Europe.
These regions are so well developed tennis-wise, and I think bringing the TMC to a country like Brazil, South Africa or Argentina would be a great promotion for the sport in these areas as many people who NEVER had the chance of seeing a tennis match live (apart from the local club of course) would have the chance to do so.
They would feel as if the really "belonged" to this global, international and wonderful sport, whereas at the moment there is AFAIK only four small tournaments in whole South America and only one tournament in Africa (!). So, hopefully the ATP will try to make the sport even more international.
