Re: SERRA DEF SODERLING 57 76 62

What a day for the French, I see Gicquel's at it again versus claycourt players - his last three tour victories are Ferrero, Gaudio and Ferrer, n'est pas?

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

It shocks me that any Robin loss could surprise someone.
Did you put money on him, tt boy? Take on Serra, and show him how it's done properly!

Re: SERRA DEF SODERLING 57 76 62

Serra beating Söderling indoors is quite funny, but Serra is one of those guys, when you want to him to win he doesn't and vice versa.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: SERRA DEF SODERLING 57 76 62

well, it is no secret that players tend to play their best tennis on home soil.

and there are quite a lot Frenchmen in the draw, so it wouldn't surprise me if one of them takes the title.

Re: SERRA DEF SODERLING 57 76 62

Robin would have beaten Serra under any other circumstances I believe. It's always easier having home support, although the best players should be able to handle that kind of pressure ! Anyway Robin is currenlty one of the best ( if not THE best) swedish singles players on the mens side after being gone for a long time due to injury! And I'm sure his ranking will continue to improve if he can just stay consistent

DJOKOVIC - IVANOVIC - NADAL - V.WILLIAMS - SÖDERLING - CLIJSTERS - DEL POTRO

There are people who, instead of listening to what is being said to them, are already listening to what they are going to say themselves/Albert Guinon
