No matter what the logic, the ATP is not looking abd at all, except in the mind sof the delusion. Love of sport is an emotional thing, probably more fans of tennis are delighted than they ahve been in ages as the most popular, adored and greatest player in the history of the game and the one with the most enjoyable game to wtach just won a slam and delighted the world. The truth of sport is the vast majority of the fans watch to enjoy and support who they love, the age thin is a tidbit obsessed over by hardcore fans who stan so much they forget the love of the game. This is nothing but positive and will play well everywhere as a fairytail story and be watched, read and seen as more inspirational than anybody else winning. Logic can go and get fucked!
Of course MTF server would crash after Fed wins #18
. So deserved though, would be a tragedy if Nadal somehow snatched that 5th set after Fed had breakpoints in every game.
I thought years ago that Fed was absolutely done winning slams, but a big champion like Federer finds a way. Respect to both players for the fight and drama they put up for us to enjoy tonight.
I loved your support for Roger in the live commentary even though you're a Djokovic Fan.. Will be so grateful to you.. I was following every reply of yours without watching the match and it made me sit on the edge of the seat ..
What I will remember most about this match is the yet another fake MTO by Federer, first against Wawrinka and now against Nadal. A huge insult to the players who are really injured and of course none of you will call him a cheater. Nadal will rise again and wow what a fight.
Trump & Federer... welcome to 2017, the end of the world.
As soon as Rafa went a break up in the 5th, I always felt wary of a 2012 repeat. Then that easy FH miss at GP at 3-2 happened and it seemed inevitable from then on.
We all had hope you could win but we didn't want to be disappointed again, yet you manage to defy all odds.
35 years old. No real match for 6 months. 4 wins over top 10 players - 3 of them coming in 5 sets, including a back-to-back.
Came from behind down 3-1* in the 5th set to your greatest rival to win your 18th slam, which now could possibly be insurmountable.
You are the GOAT and you proved it tonight. BEL18VE happened.
This is probably the happiest moment ever for me as a Federer fan. Hard to explain how much of an impact it will make on the way those last few years are viewed when looking back on them.
