Bangkok's Battle of Britain - Part 3! Murray v Henman R1...

Murray v Henman R1...the winner to possibly play the 3rd and last Briton in the main draw, Bogdanovic, in R2.

What a draw!

I'd give the nod to Henman this time...it is time for revenge

Murray will win again I think... h2h will be 4-0 then?

Henman must be sick of playing Murray... not only is it against another Brit, but Murray is a terrible match-up for Henners.

I'm sick of seeing the match-up on paper...so Tim must be more sick playing him!

The reason I say Tim will win is because it is rare for a player to continue to lose to the same guy. Admittedly, Tim has waited a while for a win against some players e.g. Sampras (6 straight losses) and Hewitt (8 straight losses)...but eventually the win tends to come.

Tim got closer in his last match against Murray and the situation is even better this week. Murray flies over from the Ukraine...a tough flight. He is short of practice on indoor courts and comes from a very slow clay court. Also, Bangkok seems to play well for the big servers and relatively decent volleyers e.g. Dent, Srichaphan, Roddick, Safin...I'm sure Henman would like the conditions.

I'm starting to think there's a conspiracy against Henman. The only thing I'm surprised about is that it's Boggo/Wang in R2 and not fucking Federer.

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

If it weren't for Henman's rotten luck with draws (since... French Open?) he'd be top 40 by now

I don't think Henman's good enough to beat Andy, and it's getting to the stage now where any draw would be a poor draw for Tim. Time to retire methinks!

Re: Bangkok's Battle of Britain - Part 3! Murray v Henman R1...

After the match, Murray was seen clutching an icepack to his chest, but he played down fears this might rule him out of the Bangkok Open.

"Every time I breathed I was feeling a shooting pain in my chest," he said.

"It happened early in the third set but hopefully I will be OK for next week."

This is indoors now and Andy just played DC, so Henman in 3.

how can Henman keep getting these draws?... unreal
and the brits for that matter pfft.

on the other hand his ranking should be better perhaps... maybe if he played more tournaments.... he coulda easily played somewhere like beijing a few weeks ago.

Re: Bangkok's Battle of Britain - Part 3! Murray v Henman R1...

They need to stop entering the same tournaments at the moment. It's just unreal luck - 3 times in 4 tournaments, and it could have been more than that had Henman made the semi in Washington instead of losing in the QF's.

I favour Tim in this one - I want Andy to win as he has big points to come off, but if Tim can't beat Murray after Andy has travelled late to the tourny, and has hardly practiced on the surface and has been playing on slow clay for three days then he never will beat him.
