Can Federer regain the #1 ranking?

He has a ton of points to gain post Wimbledon and if he matches his points before which doesn't seem too hard and wins Wimbledon/USO he could retake #1.

When do you think he'll take back what's his?

He can be a solid 12-20 ranked player.

A Masters series title is possible.

Federer will never be a TOP 5 again, let alone #1.

Roger, if he stays healthy, can certainly get back into the top 5. The top spot? No way in hell. The top two will be Andy and Djokovic for the foreseeable future.

Not before WTF2017 (I might add "realistically", but even I know it's a very low probability)

Although on a serious note, he could have done it last year if he was healthy and could reach his 2014/2015 level of play. It's a shame.

Re: Can Federer regain the #1 ranking?

Even I would say that is highly HIGHLY unlikely, Djokovic and Murray are playing very well, Nadal can never be counted out in finding a bit form again, you cant count out Stan having good runs here and there possibly scuppering Roger's chances. Plus there are some younger players beginning to show signs of improvement, Zverev, Thiem, Raonic, possibly Nishikori and Kyrgios could do some damage.

Overall too much opposition for the great man, not to mention time is against him, making him more prone to proper upsets.

ROGER FEDERER 04, 06, 07, 10, 17, 09, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, 12, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08

RAFAEL NADAL: 09, 05, 06, 07, 08, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 08, 10, 10, 13

NOVAK DJOKOVIC: 08, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 16, 11, 14, 15, 11, 15

Re: Can Federer regain the #1 ranking?

federer getting to number 1 lol...never,very simple to answer that ..top 5-10 ,yes of course ,but anything above that is hard for federer to achieve now IMO.

Re: Can Federer regain the #1 ranking?

Monumentally unlikely. At the very most, I could see him at No. 3 or 4. He could have some decent runs at tournaments, but they won't be as frequent or consistent enough to give him enough points. Plus, he's likely to have to face Murray or Djokovic at the end.

Depends on whether or not RAFA can find his groove again
