NIXED DOUBLES - Marriage Ended Sampras' Career
September 2, 2006 -- JUST in time for the U.S. Open comes word that the key to a long tennis career is to stay single. Andrew Corsello, writing in GQ, blames the demise of Pete Sampras' game on his marriage to actress Bridgette Wilson, calling it "the curse of the succubus." Sampras' stellar six-year career flew out the window faster than a broken serve right after he said, "I do." Corsello also noted Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have all fallen prey to the fabled "curse."
