Congratulations to Martina Navratilova and Bob Bryan winning the Mixed Doubles

Martina brings down the curtain on her astonishing career with one final title win, to make it Grand Slam #59, with Bob Bryan, beating Damm/Peschke 6-2 6-3 in an extremely entertaining mixed doubles final.

Bob did the big serving and Martina showed the astonishing reflexes that have been the hallmark of her game for more than 30 years.

As we say goodbye to another amazing champion at this year's US Open, I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate her on her career and her amazing success, and to express my admiration for the way she's done it. If you're going to go out, do so winning a title if you possibly can.

Bob Bryan - great work from him partnering Martina, he protected his partner extremely well and allowed Martina to leave professional tennis with one more slam title.

Thanks for the memories Martina, you've been terrific.

Bob, see you next year with Mike

Re: Congratulations to Martina Navratilova and Bob Bryan winning the Mixed Doubles

Martina's career has been nothing less than spectacular. However, she has 'retired' a few times already, we'll see if this is really the last we see of her.

I remember Bob saying Martina had the fastest hands of anyone he has ever played with.

Some of the volleys that woman pulled off tonight were truly spectacular.

It was entertaining to see her last match. Truly the greatest competitor ever. The match was pretty boring, though.

If Mirka was all I could get at number one in the world, I'd probably take Andy Roddick's route also.

Yeah lets see if she has indeed retired...
59 is an annoying number, she might want a 60th GS title

was also interesting to hear in the first round they took out Mike Bryan and his partner

You know I think I can see her trying to get another Slam Title. I can't remember her partner's name in the Women's Doubles, but the comment was made that she didn't want Martina to retire because she wanted to continue to play Women's Doubles with her.

Haven't been able to see my Tivo from tonight's coverage- but I hope this is on it.

Martina- at 50 or so is something really special.

I like a lot of players.
