Can Nadal realistically Overcome Hewitt/Roddick in Semis?

I think its overwhelmingly likely that Nadal will reach the semis yet against experienced fast paced hardcourt players like Roddick and Hewitt I can't see him making the final. Nadal may win a set but he won't win the match.

Also, between Roddick and Hewitt who would have the greater ability to defeat Nadal in the semis?

Thanks.

roddick can play like shi%t and still have a chance of beating nadal because of his serve on this surface. Hewitt will have to play really well though to win

With that return of serve and determination, I DEFINITELY can't see Nadal making it to the final.

He's lucky to have made it to the 2nd week...

The winner of Hewitt-Roddick will beat Rafa in the semis.
I don't see Rafa controlling the rallies the way he does on a slow court.

Nadal can win against either player. But it's certainly not a given.

Re: Can Nadal realistically Overcome Hewitt/Roddick in Semis?

Nadal has a good chance against either player if he plays well. I've heard that Hewitt doesn't like high balls and I don't know if Hewitt has the weapons to beat Nadal. He will have a much easier time with Roddick than with Hewitt because he should win 99% of the neutral rallies with the way Roddick is hitting the ball.

I guess Roddick must be the greatest player to ever play the game.

Yes.
Roddick and Nadal should each control their service games. It could come down to mental toughness in tie-breaks.

Overall it is too close to call between these 3. There is little between them at this event and on this court.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 19 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 26 Master Series.
Nadal 15 GS, 30 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 12 GS, 5 Year End Masters, 30 Master Series.

The Nadal serve has been very difficult to break.
