Re: Rain until Friday

Tons and tons of rain? Tournament pushed back a bit?

Does this mean that... someone unexpected might emerge as the winner? A la Goran Ivanisevic at Wimbledon in 2001?

Maybe, maybe.... Safin?

Watch him grow like a flower under all that rain, while his opponents melt

I think Roger would take these conditions over hot, sunny ones. Then again, Rafa also likes his clay with a bit of moisture in it.

Federer likes the slow, damp conditions, hence his success at Hamburg.

I don't agree about the slow, but I agree that Roger doesn't mind a bit of dampness. Correct me if I'm wrong but last year's final was held on a steaming-hot day and I think Nadal loved every minute of it.

I'm heading to Paris tomorrow and all I'm seeing is wet days ahead with weather ranging from 15-20 celcius.

You're right about the slowness but when its damp it doesn't bounce as high and is easier to move on. Last years final was hot so the ball was jumping off of the court.

Re: Rain until Friday

This whining is nonsense. Only wednesday has good chances of going to be a problem.
And even then, may end being a less rainy day than today.
French Open will be fine according to these forecasts.

geez but who said that it must be wet on final, it could be raining whole week players playing many matches in row but it could be hot during SFs and Final

Re: Rain until Friday

It's raining all week but its light showers so it shouldn't matter really apart from the change of conditions. Though I heard theres going to be 40MPH winds tomorrow.

Re: Rain until Friday

Rain will affect the tournaments of the Tuesday starters the most. Especially the non-showcourt players who are slated to start play Tuesday.

Re: Rain until Friday

Apparently there are 'no current matches for your selection' according to the RG scoreboard, so I'm guessing it's currently raining.
