That's a seriously dire forecast, but I have seen lots of forecasts like that in the past which don't necessarily turn out to be as bad.

All the slams (other than Wimbldeon) have had best of 3 sets before at some stage during the Open Era so it wouldn't necessarily be a disgrace. RG itself used to have a few rounds where they played scheduled best of 3 matches.

Cold and rain will make everything heavy and slow.

And the good thing about RG is that they will play as long as it isn't pouring rain. Like on Tuesday if it sprinkles they'll still be out there. It completely changes the court mid match, but it's interesting.

They will not make it three sets. They will just fit everything in. Really if need be they can put up over 20 matches at a time. They will start earlier too.

Players are going to end up getting screwed around with if they miss a lot of matches due to rain. It happens life isn't fair.
