Re: The Rain Haters thread

well according to weather.com (And who knows how accurate they are anyway), the chance of rain goes from 60% to 30% (and from rain to "isolated" storms) around 4pm... and then the chance goes back up to 60% and 70% at 10pm. So let's just hope that there's enough of a window to get the singles matches done so that everyone's on a level playing field and will all have their deserved days off.

Re: The Rain Haters thread

Well, I mean if they don't get all the matches finished tomorrow, then some people might have to play Friday, Saturday, and Sunday... like last year. Let's hope that can be avoided.

Re: The Rain Haters thread

Does it take 100 years to have a stadium roof in Wimbledon and U.S. Open?
It's foolish to make a stadium that resembles a scummy pool during thunderstorms.
I guess it's a "friendly atmosphere" to have the sun heat up the crowd too.

They can't put a cheap cover over the stadium, but they could afford those slow court dryers.

Rain poured from the black sky & there was still denial that a match wasn't possible at midnite. No wonder tennis gets no respect.

I know!! It is so ridiculous how they dry the courts it makes me so frustrated, and last year they were reduced to drying the courts on hands and knees with towels? By the time they do allllllllllll of that it starts raining again! whats up with them!
And really to let all that water fall all over the court and stadium...

I don't think there is a hall. Would be cool if they could. At the beginning of the broadcast they said that there would be fine weather at noon . Now it's three hours past noon and it's still raining. I think they should fire the weathermen immediately! *ggg*
