Re: US Open: Weather Updates

Hmm... I live about 10 minutes away from the stadium. It was raining heavily since 1 Am last night but seems to have stopped right now. The sky is full of clouds. It also very humid here. I don't think it will rain heavily anymore but by the looks of it it will be drizzling all day unless the sky clears a little bit.

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

According to weather.com, it's currently "cloudy" in Flushing. Here's hoping they can somehow get both matches in today!

The force will be with you, always.

If you want weather in New york or anywhere else, just type in "weather new york city" on any browser eg, google, yahoo

I like this forecast best of all i've found, and every one is different which is hard to understand. This is from yahool. 8:30

Today: Cloudy with occasional showers. High 79F. Winds ESE at 15 to 25 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

Hree's the official plan from the site of the possible scenarios:

SATURDAY -- REVISED START TIME OF 11:00 AM ET FOR MEN’S SINGLES SEMIFINALS

Historically, match play for the first Men’s Semifinal begins at 12:00 Noon in Arthur Ashe Stadium. However, due to impending inclement weather on Saturday, Sept. 6, the Men’s Singles Semifinals will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m., weather permitting.

SCENARIO I:

IF SATURDAY DAY AND NIGHT SESSIONS ARE BOTH RAINED OUT

In the event that the USTA is forced to cancel the Men’s Singles Semifinals (Session #24) and the Women’s Singles Final (Session #25) due to inclement weather on Saturday, Sept. 6, each session would be rescheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., respectively. As a result, the Men’s Singles Final (Session #26) would be rescheduled for Monday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for each of these sessions would be valid for the same session at its rescheduled date and time.

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

I hope this picture ends all speculations. Tropical storm "Hanna" (which killed over 500 people) can be seen southwest of New York and is heading northeast along the coast. Heavy rainfalls should be expected in a few hours with light rain in about 2 hours when the matches are supposed to start.

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

I wouldn`t mind if they play tomorrow as long as they play their match from start to finish.Seeing a match where players come on court play 5 games and then go back to the lockers so they come back in 2 hours for another few games is no fun

So there will be rain as well as wind to contend with.
When was the last time it was like this during USO?

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

If memory serves well, Agassi almost beat Federer a few years ago in these conditions though Fed won it in 5. I think this match will be shorter than all of us expect. Maybe 2.5 hours max.
