Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

Holding the Olympics in a place with such awful meteorological conditions is ridiculous, and I don't just mean the humidity. Might as well have held the games in the Sahara or on the South Pole.

You could easily substitute the words human rights and air quality for meteorological and you would still be right. I wonder how much the IOC executives got paid to make this happen.

It rains a lot at Wimbledon and sometimes it's not even terribly warm. Sometimes it rains at Roland Garros. And even the USO has been known to drown. And don't even start me on Australia and their necessity for a heat rule. Maybe they ought to move the slam to somewhere that it never rains, humidity is 0, is always 20 degrees Celsius, there is no wind, and the sun never sets.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Players are coming out now.

Well said. Weather conditions not being optimal is quite NORMAL in tennis.

Why hasn´t Djoko started his match already?

Re: US Open Weather Forecast

What's the reason to bump a two-year-old thread like this? A lot of people will (like me) read the first post and assume it's for this year, not 2006. What a great way to misinform people

P.S. Good to know the weather will be alright after all.

Re: US Open Weather Forecast

what's the big deal? instead of opening a new thread it appeared to be way more reasonable to bump an already existing one. usually people can read numbers, you know.

I'll merge this with the existing long-standing weather updates/moans thread.

Re: The Rain Haters Thread!!! (Weather Updates/Complaining)

I doubt they'll call off play yet - would imagine they'll be willing to continue until very late their time before calling it off unless they're advised there will be no break in the rain.

It's only 8.30pm there so I wouldn't expect them to call play off for at least 2 hours yet.
